China will significantly increase the proportion of non-fossil energy

Recently, xiao-lin wang, deputy director of the national energy administration in international clean energy "twelfth five-year" summary and outlook symposium "much starker choices-and graver consequences-in", said the "twelfth five-year" period, China's clean energy development has made remarkable achievements.The number of non-fossil energy generators increased from 290 million kw to 530 million kw, with an average annual growth of 15.2 percent, from 27 percent to 35 percent.By the end of 2015, China had 320 gigawatts of hydropower, 268 million kilowatts of nuclear power, 130 million kilowatts of wind power and more than 43 million kilowatts of solar power.Xiao-lin wang pointed out that the establishment of China's energy green low carbon development goal is, by 2030, non-fossil energy accounted for a proportion of the total energy consumption to around 20%, per unit of GDP carbon dioxide emissions by 60% ~ 65% lower than in 2005.According to the just released by the national economic and social development thirteenth five-year development plan outline, to 2020 non-fossil energy accounted for a proportion of the total energy consumption will reach 15%, per unit of GDP carbon dioxide emissions 18% lower than in 2015. 

Xiao-lin wang said that in order to achieve this goal, China will increase during the "much starker choices-and graver consequences-in non-fossil energy consumption, and gradually raise the proportion of natural gas consumption, promote clean fossil energy utilization, improve the quality and level of the low-carbon energy sector development.The specific approach is embodied in three aspects. 

First, we will promote nuclear power in an orderly manner.In 2020, nuclear power generation will strive to reach 58 million kilowatts and 30 gw under construction.

Second, accelerate the construction of the southwest hydropower station, steadily build the western wind power solar base, and vigorously develop the distributed renewable energy resources in the Middle East.

Third, we will accelerate the construction of a clean energy base.
